Unravelling the Mystery
Is The Old Workhouse a suitable place to look for your ancestors? Come and join us to discover the family history sources with tutor Jackie Depelle.
Perhaps you have always fancied trying to trace your ancestors; have already made a start and wonder what else might be found; or are just hooked on our addictive hobby. Our special day will have something for everyone from the basic methods of “how to”, sources in Libraries and on the Internet, to more unusual places to visit.
Our programme will include:
Registration
How the story started
Certificates and Census
Parish Records & Church History
Wills, Deeds and Newspapers
The National Archives
Internet websites
The afternoon case study will feature a Pateley Bridge family
Plus the opportunity to hear about the Family History resources
in the Nidderdale Museum.
Fees for the Day School are £16.00.
This includes tea/coffee/soft drinks during the day.
Please provide your own packed lunch.
