Fewston Church plays an important part in the life of the community, including providing a venue for concerts and exhibitions, and attracts many visitors who walk in the Washburn Valley. The PCC would like to expand the church’s role in the community, and to provide more information on local heritage for walkers and for booked visiting groups such as school children or elderly people’s clubs.

In order to do this it is proposed to build a sympathetic extension to the church by demolishing the semi-derelict hearse house and providing a multi-purpose room with kitchen and toilet facilities and exhibition space. There will also be a new path from the reservoir to the churchyard.
